Congrats Geoff, what a great run! Being in Anchorage I didn't have to stay up too late to "see" your finish. Looks like easily a Wasatch Top 10 time. Looking forward to your report.Carl
fantastic result. It seemed like this race was hugely important to you.you nailed it...respect again and again and again
YEAH GEOFF, YUR THE MAN... HOPE YUR FEELING WELL!!!
Super job Geoff. You must have been feeling fresh. I thought maybe that 100 you did a month earlier would be a tad rich, but not to be! Did you feel any altitude issues? Did you feel two weeks was enough? Sometimes I think those of us who do not live at altitude can combat the lack of altitude training with speed.Nice work, recover well
Congratulations on your win! I'm excited to read the race report.
Geoff, I notice that in your training that much of your running is done at 7+ minute pace. However I don't see any tempo style runs say (5:45 pace). I'm assuming that you get most of your anerobic running by way of hills hence the 7+ minute/mile runs...
You are stupid fast. What else can be said.
wynn, i usually do more speed/tempo work but this summer i've had such a short period of time between my gdr recovery and my wasatch prep. that i decided to get my speed work in the form of "training races". beginning in mid july i did a race every weekend for five straight weeks, with four of those five races (excluding the 100 miler) being what i would think of as good hard tempo speed.
