Time To Go

Miwok starts in less than 20 hours.

My main intent is to have fun. That said I'm going out there to run this thing as hard as I can and learn some things about myself. There are so many strong runners in this race. I could have a good race and not crack the top 25. That's scary and very exciting at the same time.

It's exciting to know that in 30 hours from now I will have about 100 times as much of an idea just where I fit into the serious (i.e. not just Alaska) ultra running scene. Should be a fun day.

OMG, man, NOW you KNOW where you fit in, don't ya??!! Congrats on 3rd place and on earning a WS spot - I hope you come, please do, it's as rare of an opportunity as can be! It was awesome to meet you on that road, it took me a few seconds to figure out who you are - it was fun to toss between "I should know all the front runners", "he knows my name and I don't know his", and "who the hell is that tall dude"? Either case, congratulations again, and hope to have some more time to meet you this June!

Geoff! AMAZING RUN!!! Did I say AMAZING? As in ... totally AMAZING? I always knew you were a natural runner, but now you're made your statement to the world. I think it's time to seriously consider running the WS race.

Congratulations again .... phew ... helluva run man!

Geoff! you da man! Way to rock out out with your caulk out!
Did you feel like this was the "perfect race" or has that not yet revealed itself yet. I see many great things to come. Now I suppose WS puts a "kink" in your GDR chain, no pun intended. Options are a good thing.

NICE run Geoff!! Don't know how you got in that kinda shape in Juneau this winter, but damn! I say do the WS and then come back and kill it at Crow Pass again! Good luck with whatever you decide, WS or GDR, we'll be pulling for ya back in AK.

Congratulations! I have been reading along for probably 6 months. I guess I am a fan (and I am certainly not the fan type). It's certainly fan-like behavior to check for results 4 or 5 times before they actually come out. Reading someone's daily training logs and thoughts will do that, apparently.

Please run Western States, man!
