Running Stupid Interview

Here's a link to an online interview I did last week on "Running Stupid": http://runningstupid.libsyn.com/running-stupid-lxxxv-geoff-roes-interview-

It's quite long but there's some stuff in there that should be pretty informative for runners new to running ultras... and maybe even a few things that would be interesting to anyone.

  1. i like hearing these interviews, pretty cool to hear your thoughts (literally hear) on these things.

interesting about cross training. i'm nothing similar to your scale of athlete, but i'm always curious whether i should be cross-training more... and my athletics suffer when i focus a lot on biking, running, swimming (i think of playing basketball too... and i can barely move afterward if i do).

anyway, hope to hear more of this. great run this past weekend.

  4. Great interview. Am curious though how you carry your mandatory kit whilst using handhelds? I'm doing a race soon that requires similar mandatory kit to be carried at all times. I can't stand packs (both waist and back) and am struggling to find a way to carry gear without sacrificing the use of handhelds. Any help would be awesome. thanks.

  5. I second the question about carrying the mandatory kit when using handhelds. I hate packs, too. Thank you for the interview.

  7. Great interview, thanks! I have always loved your attitude: just running for the fun! I think this world needs more attitude like that.

Have fun, good runs and good luck with the upcoming UTMB!
