Juneau Ridge...

Ran it today in 1 hour 57 minutes. To those in Juneau you know what this means. For those not here in Juneau I can summarize for you: I'm in really good shape. Especially considering that I wasn't really feeling that great today and the conditions are already starting to get slow because there isn't nearly enough snow anymore to make it optimal for speed. As far as I know this was about 20 minutes faster than the fastest known time on this route and about 40 minutes faster than I've ever done it.

  1. Wow. That's crazy fast traveling on rough mountain terrain. Nice going.

  2. Geoffs running PRs, Tony's running PR's, Hals running PB's, Kilian is running some crazy warm-up event - 700k in 7 days???

I hope this race lives up to the hype!

    Good luck man!

  3. Geoff...living in CA proved to be a bit of a factor in my getting up to hear your talk the other night. I would (as I am sure others would also) really be stoked to get the paraphrased version here on your blog if the opportunity presents itself.

...and a question totally off topic: what watch/gps/training computer do you use for tracking mileage and elevation? ...if you use one...

  4. I love how sick you are. I'm thinking about coming out to watch WS again this year just to see you and Krupicka battle it out.

  5. It's gotta feel good! I'm sitting here with bruised ribs and a broken wing! Hoping I make it to the Hardrock start line. My money is on you and Hal all the way.

  6. I once hiked the Juneau Ridge route in five hours and I was really proud of myself.

Congrats on making it so far in your training this year. It will be cool to see what you do with the rest of your summer - not just in racing, but with Juneau. Seems there's nothing out there to stop you with that kind of speed ... not even the ice field.

  7. Geoff, are you planning on doing any heat training before 6/26? If so, can you share your plans?

  9. Geoff,

You're an inspiration. I love the way you train. And as a fellow Alaskan, I'm cheering for you to continue blazing trails!
