This summer i did higher mileage and less speed. The last month I have been doing more speed workouts and feel much of the same experiences. Ahh embrace the treadmill man, it is a very useful tool if used appropriately. I use it for many of my speed workouts. Once speed starts to build over time I find myself almost apprehensive to jump in an ultra, only to recover once again when it's over. I'm also at my best speed fitness and fluidity. I have found that each week of speed you find an improvement the following week or 2nd week.
